đŸŽ„ Why Isn’t My Video Embedding on My Vsble Page?

Trying to embed a video from Vimeo or YouTube and it’s just not showing? Here’s why that might happen — and what you can do about it.

Updated this week

✅ First, Use the Correct Link

Make sure you're using a direct video link, not a private preview or browser URL.

Examples that work:

Get the link by clicking “Share” → “Copy Link” on the video platform.

🔒 Using Vimeo? Please Read This

Vimeo has privacy settings that can block embedding, especially on free accounts.

💡 What to check in Vimeo:

  1. Open your video on Vimeo

  2. Click the Settings (gear icon)

  3. Go to the Privacy tab

There, check the following:

1. Who can watch?

Set this to:

  • Anyone or

  • People with the private link

(⚠ “Private” or “Password protected” videos may not embed unless you’re on a paid plan)

2. Where can this be embedded?

This setting is only available on Plus, Pro or Business plans.

To embed on Vsble, it must be set to:

  • Anywhere ✅

If this option is not visible, it means you’re on a free Vimeo account and embedding might be restricted.

⚠ Important: Age Rating (Content Rating)

Some videos won’t embed unless you’ve set a content rating (even if the content is safe!).

How to fix:

  • In Vimeo, go to your video’s Settings

  • Open the General tab

  • Scroll down to “Content Rating”

  • Select one of the following:

    • All Audiences ✅

    • Mature (18+) ✅

đŸš« If your video has no rating selected, it might not embed at all — even on your own site.

🔁 What You Can Do if It Still Doesn’t Work

Option 1: Use YouTube

YouTube allows public videos to be embedded everywhere, even with a free account.

Option 2: Upgrade Your Vimeo Plan

With Plus, Pro or Business, you can:

  • Enable domain-level embedding

  • Keep videos private but embeddable

  • Avoid Vimeo branding (Pro+)

Option 3: Host Elsewhere

You can also use another platform or your own hosting solution if you need more control.
