This step by step guide shows ho to perform Search Engine Optimization for your Vsble Website.

To fully leverage SEO capabilities, upgrading to the Vsble Pro Max account is essential. Unlike basic plans that offer limited SEO settings, the Pro Max version adopts a comprehensive approach to optimize your website for higher search engine rankings. For Google your website is like a book with chapters & paragraphs, and the better you describe it, the better can Google read it. If you do not optimize your SEO and add information to each element of the page, Google might take random information to describe it, that can result in inaccurate or irrelevant information. To avoid it, you should update every element of your website with relevant information.

The optimization includes:

  • Customizable Website Favicon Icon

  • Enhanced Page Meta Titles, Descriptions, and Open Graph Images

  • Detailed Album Meta Titles, Descriptions, and Open Graph Images

  • AI-Supported Image Alt-Text

  • Custom URL Slugs for Pages and Albums

1. General Site Settings & Website Favicon

Begin by uploading your custom favicon and adjusting the general website settings. Initially, your website will display the default Vsble favicon along with a standard title and description, which you should update to reflect your personal brand.

  • Go to your website’s dashboard and navigate to the global website SEO settings.

  • Look for the section labeled "Browser Icon."

2. Upload Your Favicon Image

  • Click on the upload button.

  • Drag and drop the image you want to use for your favicon from your computer into the designated upload area.

  • Ensure the image is clear and easily recognizable at a small size.

After uploading your custom favicon, launch a new browser window to see the update. If Safari still shows the default Vsble favicon due to caching, don't be concerned; others will see your custom favicon. To clear the cached favicon, follow the instructions in this guide. Alternatively, viewing your website in an incognito window should display the correct favicon.

General website settings

Next, let's update the website title if it still displays "Vsble" and refresh the default description. Click on the account dropdown menu and select "Google & SEO".

n this section, you can assign a title and description to your website. These global settings will apply across the website unless you specify different titles and descriptions for individual pages. Your title and description will appear in Google search results for your site, and the title will also be used as the browser tab title.

Aim for a title length of around 60 characters and keep your meta description to approximately 160 characters. Ensure your description is precise, avoiding keyword stuffing, and remains relevant. Google favors websites with accurate descriptions that don't overuse keywords. An effective example would be:

Title: Gavin Bond Photography Portfolio

Description: Discover Gavin Bond's online showcase, featuring breathtaking fashion and portrait photography that highlights both beauty and individuality.

Additionally, set the Open Graph (OG) Image, which serves as a visual preview of your website when shared on social media. This not only enhances conversion rates but can also significantly boost website traffic by providing a visual summary or "visit card" of your site. You may use still images or animated GIFs. You can now customize the SEO settings for each page on your website, aiding Google in better understanding your site and its content. For instance, you might have pages titled "Personal Work," "Commercial Work," etc. While these titles are visible in the site's navigation, it's crucial to incorporate them into the meta descriptions of the respective pages as well. This practice enhances Google's ability to recognize and index your content. Precise and well-implemented SEO significantly improves your site's ranking and visibility online. The specific settings we'll explore include:

  • Page Meta Title

  • Page Meta Description

  • Custom URL for the Page (URL Slug)

  • Open Graph Image for the Page

To begin, navigate to the individual settings for each page.

When you access the page settings, you'll find multiple tabs. Let's begin with the "Main Settings" tab.

In this section, you have the option to define a custom URL Slug. For instance, if your page is titled "MEN," you can choose a more SEO-friendly slug to more accurately describe the page's content, such as "men-portrait-photography." This not only clarifies the page's focus for Google and other search engines but also incorporates key search terms like "photography" and "portrait photography" into the URL. As a result, your page is more likely to appear in search results for queries related to men's portrait photography or portrait photography in general.


Next, proceed to the "SEO Settings" tab. This is where you'll input the Meta Title and Description for your page. Aim for a title length of about 60 characters and a description length of roughly 160 characters. Craft a relevant and engaging description, incorporating a few pertinent keywords to enhance discoverability.

Consider the following approach for optimizing your page's SEO: For the Open Graph image, you might opt for a collage that succinctly conveys the essence of the page or one strong visual. When shared on social media, this visual or collagesummary should pique interest and encourage further exploration.

Ensure you apply this customization to every page on your website, but be mindful to avoid repetitive descriptions. Each page should have a unique title and description to prevent content duplication, which could negatively impact your site's Google ranking.

3. Album SEO

Let's proceed to optimizing the SEO for your albums. Think of your website as a book, with pages representing chapters and albums acting like individual paragraphs. By assigning titles and descriptions to your albums, you effectively guide Google in understanding your "book" and improving its placement in search rankings, thereby enhancing visibility. Google values precise descriptions of all elements, rewarding accuracy with better searchability. Conversely, inaccurate descriptions can negatively impact your website's visibility and search performance.

Click on the album settings and you will see a similar setting options to that of the page.

In this case the album is called Bafta portraits and includes portraits of famous actors and celebrities.

In selecting a URL slug, aim for one that incorporates relevant keywords to hint at the page's content. While "Bafta Portraits" is a solid choice, "bafta-celebrity-portraits" enhances it by adding the keyword "celebrity portraits," which broadens the scope to include "bafta celebrity portraits." Consider including the specific year of the awards for even more precision and context.

Now lets move to SEO Settings tab. Here you should add a good descriptive title and description. In this case something like this:

Meta Title: "BAFTA Celebrity Portraits by Gavin Bond"

Meta Description: "Explore Gavin Bond's exclusive collection of BAFTA men's celebrity portraits. Dive into a world of artistic elegance and captivating expressions from the prestigious awards."

For the open graph you can use one image that represents the album or a collage of several images.

4. Image Alt-text description

Alt-text is essential for SEO as it provides search engines with clear descriptions of images on a website. This information helps search engines understand and categorize the content, improving the site's visibility in image searches. Well-crafted alt-text can enhance a website's SEO performance by incorporating relevant keywords related to the image and overall page content, making it more likely for the site to rank higher in search results.

To add Alt-text click on the image and select "Info & Alt Text" and click on "Descriptive" tab.

Here, you have the option to manually input a description or utilize our AI tool to automatically generate one. You can then keep the AI-generated description as it is or tweak it according to your preferences.

5. Google Search Console Verification

Finally lest verify your website by submitting it to Google Search Console. Google Search Console verification is crucial as it enables direct communication with Google about your website. It offers insights into Google's perspective on your site, such as indexing status, search traffic, and performance. Additionally, submitting your website's sitemap and robots.txt file through the console is beneficial. The sitemap helps Google understand your website structure and ensures all your pages are found and indexed effectively. The robots.txt file guides Google on which parts of your site to crawl and which to ignore, optimizing the crawling process. Together, these tools aid in identifying and rectifying crawl errors, enhancing your site's visibility, and understanding user search queries leading to your site, thereby significantly improving SEO and overall site performance.
